The CAMP Summer Research Scholars Program (CSRSP) is 10-weeks, and focused on providing UCI students with information on how to conduct undergraduate research. The program augments the experience of students working with faculty mentors to enhance their understanding of what it means to be a scientist or engineer. CSRSP provides students with the opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions with their peers, access literature focused on best practices related to research, hear from graduate students in STEM about their academic journeys, and participate in workshops focused on graduate school preparedness.
Below are topics that will be covered this summer:
- How to write an abstract
- Effective critical thinking strategies
- How to create a research poster
- Graduate School readiness
- How to write a scientific paper
- How to write a personal statement
Upon completion of the program, participants are required to submit a 10-12 page research paper (due Week 0 of Fall 2018). Additionally, students will also present their findings at the CAMP Undergraduate Symposium, Tuesday of Week 0.
The application period for the 2018 Summer Research Scholars Program is now closed.
